I’m Scott W. Coleman, a Texas-based freelance photojournalist with over 20 years of professional experience in photography, writing, and editing. I specialize in sports and news coverage, delivering editorial content under tight deadlines while capturing compelling, narrative-rich images.

My recent assignments have included NFL, NCAA football and basketball, NBA, Major League Soccer (MLS), Formula 1, German Bundesliga, and other international soccer events. I’ve also covered major concerts, celebrity appearances, political campaigns, and breaking news stories. My work has appeared in more than 150 newspapers, magazines, and digital publications worldwide.

I’m an active member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), National Sports Media Association (NSMA), Association Internationale de la Presse Sportive (AIPS), and the Freelancers Union.

While I’m based in Austin, Texas, I travel frequently and am available for assignment across Texas—including Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio, Waco, College Station, and Houston—as well as internationally, especially in Germany, with periodic availability in Essen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bonn, Dortmund, Frankfurt, and surrounding regions.

Regular Coverage in Germany & Europe

I maintain verified legal status to work on journalistic assignments for both German and international clients for up to 90 days per year. I schedule at least two dedicated work trips to Europe annually, with a focus on Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, FIFA, and UEFA matches, as well as broader editorial coverage.
